To our friends, artists, and community — It’s with heavy hearts that we share that Koto Lowell has closed its doors for good.
This space has hosted countless shows, events, and memories that we’ll always cherish. From live bands and pop-ups to private celebrations and fundraisers,
Koto has been more than a venue —
it’s been a home for creativity, connection, and community here in downtown Lowell.
We’re endlessly grateful to everyone who performed here, attended a show, rented the space, or simply supported what we were building. Your energy and encouragement kept this place alive, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of the journey.

Story
About Us
Koto Asian Fusion has its roots in Salem, Massachusetts, where it was established in 2014. The restaurant gained popularity for its fresh sushi, diverse Asian cuisine, and entertainment venue featuring live music. Later, a second location in Providence, Rhode Island opened in 2019, but was unfortunately forced to close due to the pandemic. Koto subsequently expanded to Downtown Lowell, Massachusetts, with the goal of becoming a well-established part of the community.

Expansion and Current Offering:

The Lowell location, acquired in January 2024, boasts a larger capacity than the Salem location, accommodating 400 people across three floors.

The Lowell location features a first floor that mirrors the Salem location's ambiance and offers both dining and live music, with live music shows starting after dinner service.

Upstairs, the third floor hosts larger acts, festivals, public & private event rentals, and DJs.
